About Wilburn CPA
A CPA who’s also run a construction business — not just audited one.
I’m Ron Wilburn, a CPA licensed since 1992. For most of my career, I’ve worked in accounting and tax-focused professional services, helping small and mid-sized businesses get their financial house in order.
But the experience that actually shapes how I work with construction and trades clients came from a different direction: I owned and ran a residential remodeling company, Wilburn Homes LLC, serving Tulsa-area homeowners since 2019, including its custom cabinetry division, Midtown Cabinets. I’m also a former member of the Home Builders Association of Greater Tulsa.
That means when I talk to a custom home builder or remodeling contractor about job costing, WIP schedules, or cash flow timing, I’m not working from a textbook. I’ve bid the jobs and managed the subs myself.

Why This Combination Matters
Most accountants understand accounting. Most contractors understand construction. Very few understand both well enough to translate between them — which is exactly where things go wrong: job costs that don’t reconcile, WIP that’s never tracked, financials that don’t match how a job actually progressed.
I built this practice specifically to close that gap.

How I Work
